A nurse by background, with a degree in Occupational Health and an MBA completed during the pandemic, she combines clinical insight with lived experience. Bal Matharu – PhD(c)

After 20+ years treating symptoms as an Advanced Respiratory Physiotherapist while living with hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue and brain fog herself, Bal discovered through breathwork that trauma was trapped in her body. Within a year she reversed her condition, came off medication and “came home” to her body. Now, as founder of BODY|MIND IQ and a PhD candidate in Lifestyle Medicine, she helps women heal what protocols and willpower never could – by working nervous system–first and teaching them to trust their body’s intelligence, not just manage symptoms.

Lara Oyedele

Lara Oyedele is a respected leader with over 30 years’ experience in the social housing sector and a longstanding advocate for social justice, homelessness reduction, and inclusive leadership. Having experienced teenage homelessness herself, she went on to serve as President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (2021–2023), where her “In My Shoes” campaign challenged racial inequality in housing leadership and boardrooms. Lara has held senior roles across housing associations, charities, and community organisations, including CEO of Odu Dua Housing Association, and founded BME National to support Black and minority ethnic housing providers. She is CEO of Black on Board Ltd, chairs Hope Housing, and has served on the boards of Southern Housing Group and Housing 21. She also leads Lara Homes and mentors young people from ethnic minority backgrounds.

Period, pregnancy and menopause apps; digital therapy and crisis tools; workplace systems and algorithmic decision-making. Where AI is already present in women’s lives, and whether it is helping, ignoring or harming them.

Inequalities in a global city:

What AI and changing work patterns mean for Black and minoritised women, migrants, carers and low-income families in London. Social determinants: housing, income, caring load, racism, migration status, occupational health.
