Women’s Participation, Work & Enterprise

Across Scotland, significant effort is being invested in improving health outcomes, workforce participation, entrepreneurship, skills development, employability, digital inclusion and community wellbeing. Yet an important question remains: How do we create more practical pathways that enable women to participate, progress and contribute throughout different stages of life, work and enterprise?

For many women, participation is shaped not by a single issue but by the interaction of multiple factors — health, caring responsibilities, confidence, access to opportunity, workforce design, enterprise support, skills development and economic inclusion. These challenges sit across sectors. The solutions must therefore do the same. That is why, on 18 September 2026, The Holistic Wellbeing Summit will convene leaders and practitioners from across public, private, third-sector, academic, health, enterprise and community ecosystems to explore how Scotland can strengthen participation through more connected pathways and practical action.

Secure Access

Your Future Self is Waiting

Guided by our four-pillar framework of Insight, Access, Action and Influence, the convening will bring together organisations, institutions and communities that play different but equally important roles in enabling participation. Through a series of cross-sector discussions, access zones and collaborative sessions, we will explore opportunities to strengthen connections between people, services, institutions and opportunities — with the aim of informing practical recommendations and future collaboration. Whether you are an employer, policymaker, educator, clinician, investor, enterprise agency, social enterprise, community organisation, entrepreneur, researcher or someone navigating your own participation journey, this conversation has relevance for you.
