Lara Oyedele is a respected leader with over 30 years’ experience in the social housing sector and a longstanding advocate for social justice, homelessness reduction, and inclusive leadership. Having experienced teenage homelessness herself, she went on to serve as President of the Chartered Institute of Housing (2021–2023), where her “In My Shoes” campaign challenged racial inequality in housing leadership and boardrooms. Lara has held senior roles across housing associations, charities, and community organizations, including CEO of Odu Dua Housing Association, and founded BME National to support Black and minority ethnic housing providers. She is CEO of Black on Board Ltd, chairs Hope Housing, and has served on the boards of Southern Housing Group and Housing 21. She also leads Lara Homes and mentors young people from ethnic minority backgrounds.
